About Us

Melbourne TetraHand is a group of surgeons and health practitioners who are bringing arm and hand functionality back to people with tetraplegia.

Melbourne TetraHand is a unique specialist service focussing on restoring function to the arm and hand in people with tetraplegia using a variety of surgical techniques including tendon and nerve transfer surgery. Our team is comprised of reconstructive plastic surgeons and occupational therapists with extensive experience in this field, and we work in close collaboration with rehabilitation physicians, neurologists and physiotherapists. Melbourne TetraHand has partnered with Epworth HealthCare, one of the largest not-for-profit private hospital groups in Australia, renowned for innovation, research and  excellence in patient care, to offer an evidence–based program of arm and hand re-animation to safely restore function and enhance independence.
